For this book cover I wanted to represent the silhouette of a chonmage (Japanese hairstyle in the Edo period), so I simply drew it with a sumi brush and ink, and scanned it. The image on the right is a more "cleaner" idea of the chonmage before war or experiencing war. On the left, shows the battle harden warriors and the appearance of the chonmage being more rough which I hoped gave of the impression of experiencing war.
