Akira Sasaki is the protagonist of our story. A protege of law, he has already been able to apprentice under an experienced law firm despite just starting his 10th year of grade school. He accepted his invitation to the prestigious Hope's Peak International Academy to escape the bullying he faced from his previous classmates for coming out as trans. While he is usually awkward and nervous in social situations due to the bullying he's faced, he gains confidence when he's in his element.

Calder MacLellan is one of the international students in the class, and is originally from Scotland. A protege of golf, he's already competed in tournaments such as the Masters despite his young age. While golf is often considered a boring, uptight sport, Calder is anything but, and his goofy antics, such as playing a tournament with a mini-golf club, make people who wouldn't usually be interested in the sport watch. His happy, upbeat personality and class clown attitude gains him friends quickly.

Eleanor Maud is one of the international students in the class, and is originally from England. Whatever caused the students to be unable to remember how they got to the building appears to have hit her harder, as she cannot remember anything about why she was invited to Hope's Peak. Despite being distressed over her amnesia, she is very polite and sweet to the other students.

Ethan Garçon is one of the international students in the class, and is originally from France. He is a gifted polyglot, able to speak 17 languages well enough to work for radio stations from all around the world. He is passionate about music and is able to play many instruments, making him excellent for choosing the songs for music stations, but he also does interviews, readings for advertisements, and occasionally hosts game shows. Perhaps working so many jobs for so many stations explains the deep gray circles and bags under his eyes? 

Haruka Ai is an interesting case. Her "talent" is that she is unable to feel any emotions, and has been this way since birth. Additionally, whatever causes her lack of emotions causes her to dissociate often. Because of this, she forgets to eat unless someone else reminds her, which stunted her growth and development. She can be hard to socialize with due to her lack of emotions, dissociation, and blunt speaking manner, but she's nice enough.

Hayato Abe is someone who has a rough-looking exterior but a heart of gold. From a poorer area of town, he has a rather crass and blunt manner of speaking and swears a lot, but he genuinely cares about people around him, and especially cares about animals. He considers himself a protector of those around him, and despite his smaller stature he is incredibly strong.

Hiroki Satou is rare for being scouted for two talents. His family had worked as samurai historically, but as the shogunate dissolved they used their remaining money to purchase a flower shop to run, while continuing to work as hired protection on request. He has carried that legacy and is a talented ikebana artist and bodyguard as well, though he's done much less official bodyguarding than floral arrangements. Despite his intense look and massive frame, he is a gentle, caring person and doesn't want to intimidate or scare others unless they are threatening someone first. 

Izna Sharma is one of the international students in the class, and is originally from India. She is an incredibly talented dancer in many styles, but her favorite is belly dancing.  She has a quick wit and quick manner of speech, and will not tolerate being objectified or hate from anyone. She's a very encouraging person, wanting friends to have a good time and get out of their comfort zones, and is always happy to teach anyone interested in dance.

Lavender Washington is one of the international students in the class, and is originally from the U.S.A. She became interested in helping those with mental health issues from a young age, and worked together with her own therapist to create accessible resources for classmates from poorer parts of the city. She's very sweet and caring, but still has a sarcastic side to her, and can handle herself in most situations.

Nadeshiko Kawaguchi is a very calculated individual. She is at best polite and standoffish to people she doesn't know, and gives scathing, cold looks to those who try to interact with her. She refuses to speak about her talent or the scar on her cheek, and one would be wise to avoid asking. However, if she thinks no one is looking, she seems less stiff and looks a bit lonely. Maybe she could warm up?

Roberto Achcautli is one of the international students in the class, and is originally from Mexico. Ticitl is the nahuatl word for a traditional healer, but since no one in the class would know what that meant he chose "Witch Doctor" as his alternate title. He takes great pride in his Nahua heritage and culture, as well as his ability to help others with the medicines he makes. He's a pretty eccentric and flamboyant guy and loves causing chaos with friends, but can be serious and reliable when the time calls for it.

Thor Bjørnson is one of the international students from the class, and is originally from Norway. He learned to bake from his mom, and immediately became obsessed with making newer and better baked goods. He's a big softie, as sweet as the pastries he bakes, and he loves to share his creations with his friends.
