Artistic Korner- An Art History App for art gallery in Hyderabad
Project overview
The product:
Artistic korner App is a mobile application for an art gallery that allows users to get information about an art piece by simply scanning its QR code. In addition, it provides free art history courses from gallery curators that users can preload and read anywhere, anytime.
Project duration:
June 2022 to Nov 2022
The problem:
Many people face the challenge of understanding certain artistic
ideas and artworks while visiting galleries and museums. Moreover, it
is difficult and time-consuming to get concise and easy-to-
understand information about an art piece during a gallery visit.
Unfortunately, this prevents most people from visiting an art gallery
without fear of appearing ignorant and uncultured. Essentially, this
results in a person feeling unsatisfied after visiting an art gallery and
perhaps giving up on the idea of going there in the future
The goal:
To solve these problems, it was decided to create an informative and
simple platform on art history, understandable and convenient for
everyone. With this app, gallery guests will have quick access to
information about any piece of art in the gallery.
.
Responsibilities:
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.

User research: summary
After examining existing studies on the web, l had identified two main user groups: local art lovers and tourists. l also discovered the main reasons people visit museums and art galleries, from the simple desire to entertain themselves and fulfill curiosity to pursuing professional interests. In addition, research has shown that there are several other reasons People use similar apps. Among them are the language barrier, lack of time, and a desire to connect with the art community.
Problem statment: pain points
Resources- Available info on art history is either too complex for a visitor not versed in art, or boring and poorly framed.
Time - People waste a lot of time trying to find needed and clear information about art piece or artist.
Money- People are not ready to spend a lot of money on paid art history apps, courses, etc.

Takeaways
Impact:
The app makes user visit museums more frequently without any hesitation. As they can scan art and get the info.
What I learned:
While designing the Art app, I learned that the first ideas for the app are only the beginning of the process. Usability studies and peer feedback influenced each iteration of the app’s designs.
