Lung Cancer's New Landscape

Discoveries takes a look at lung cancer. Cedars-Sinai’s magazine notes that lung cancer deaths are on the decline. They attribute the drop in part to public health measures, like anti-smoking campaigns, as well as a 2004 discovery that gave doctors a better understanding of the disease and how to treat it. Patients now have better survival rates than they did two decades ago. Despite the advances, the disease remains a leading cause of death, but there is optimism that better treatments and even a cure can be found.
