Hikikomori VR game

The relationship between art and technology is created in an unprecedented art medium - digital art and virtual reality. Their convergence opens wide opportunities for artists and designers to tell new stories. The awareness of physical presence in the non-physical world is an extremely powerful sensation. Therefore, using this sense, conceptual communication design projects can become the most evocative means of presenting complex social problems. The hikikomori phenomenon presented in the VR creative project best responds to this format. As a hikikomori person who has not endured the pressure of society, bullying, unreasonable expectations, lack of close love, is influenced by information technology, hides from his own thoughts and images and/or seeks help in a digital society where he hopes to be reborn and start all over again. By putting on the virtual glasses, the viewer participates in the latent digital reality of hikikomori. In principle, it is difficult for the viewers of the VR project to understand that hikikomori actions such as self-isolation from the outside, closing their creative, silent, etc. into digital reality are a form of rebellion. This notion defies everything we know about rebellious actions, which are characterized as demonstrative, visible, counterintuitive. Hikikomori rebellion is defined by self-absorption, it is like a permanent state of quarantine that will not end. It is also important to note that virtual reality and digitally assisted methods are particularly suitable for this group in order to reintegrate those people into social life. Therefore, digital and virtual reality could become a new platform to reveal the actual hiki problem in the design of visual communications. In order to acquaint the public with the phenomenon of self-identification of young people, which is developing all over the world, the characteristic features are a conceptual virtual reality project, which gives meaning to a young person's new form of rebellion and protest against society's stereotypes.
