Ahmedabad Flower Show 2019 and 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi
The Flower show in Ahmedabad is immensely popular among the citizens and it draws crowds in massive numbers. Now in its seventh edition the Flower Show on Sunday, January 20, 2019 saw unprecedented number of visitors, so much that the authorities i.e Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation had to issue an advisory requesting visitors to not visit the Flower Show on that day. Much of the traffic chaos was also due to the ongoing Ahmedabad Shopping Festival near by. However to make up for the tremendous demand, AMC has announced extension of the Flower Show till January 31, 2019.
The current edition celebrates 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and is dedicated to the theme of 'Bapu'. The gate of nature's gathering opens at 10 am every day and closes down at 9 pm.
Opened on January 16, 2019, in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani the aromatic Flower Show 2019 with approximately 50 awe-inspiring flower sculptures of assorted shapes and sizes at Sabarmati Riverfront has attracted more than half a million visitors in less than a week. Horticulture enthusiasts can also get for themselves a couple of greens from India's 12 leading nurseries while visiting the
show.
