I am part of a startup called Fittr (website) that creates customized workout plans and using simulated neurons of the human brain progesses each person towards their fitness goals with whatever equipment they have access to.
We have been in development for a little over a year and we're finally ready to launch. Above is our current logo. Now, when we started Fittr, the font "lobster" was still not widely used, but as people have discovered it, it has become sort of the go to for startups since it's free and looks nice.

I am not at all a typographer and have mostly stuck to digital becuase I never spent the time to practice drawing much. However, I decided we needed a new logo and the only way was for me to try my hand at typography.
I loved the drawing but when I scanned it and traced it in photoshop, it just looked too cartoonish and that is not the look we're going for. So I spent an hour or so thinning out the lines and making the conntections to the next letter more uniformed.
With the new logo, I was able to make a more iconic letter "F" which we are going to use as the app icon. Also, the unique font for logos is really trending currently.
With the launch coming in the next few weeks, I'm excited about the new brand. I still think it's missing something, but I think it will grow on me and I can always update it more later.
