🐟Mermaids in the Philippines are said to capture children and raise them in their underwater realm, then marry them once they are of age.
🐟Natives also say that they would hear wailing in distress - a mermaids method of attracting prey - at night during the rainy season.
🐟A telltale trait of merfolk is their strong fishy smell. (i find this so funny because mermaids are described as beautiful and enchanting but they smell bad 😅)
