3D Platformer Demo with 2 Levels

3D Platformer Demo with 2 Levels
This artifact is a 3D third person platformer Unreal project. A game with a main menu and two levels. After selecting a level, the player controls a third person character that can shoot projectiles. Level one is a landscape with platforming elements, enemies, collectibles, and npc’s. Level two is a labyrinth that the player has to navigate through to reach the end.
This artifact was fully developed using Unreal Engine
This artifact highlights my skills in game engine mastery with working in Unreal Engine, 3D graphics with the 3D geometry and level design, graphic interface design with the menu design, game physics with designing he levels around the movements of the player character.
The project was rather simple to put together in Unreal Engine, the terrain was built with the terrain tools and the room was put together with built-in basic assets. I didn't struggle too much when polishing it further as I just added and changed objects on the terrain and multiplied the room to create a more coherent structure.

While I was constructing the project, I learned how to manipulate terrain in the engine and several shortcuts to simplify construction of structures. I learned the time it takes to brainstorm and construct more complex structures increases greatly when focusing on details. When I was improving it further, I learned to keep scripts and blueprints in mind when designing levels as you might need an object with specific behavior at some point.

I struggled with developing the blueprints for the levels as I don't have as much experience with them as I do with working in the engine's editor. I researched how different nodes worked and brainstormed the logic that would need to be followed to reach the results I wanted.

I improved the project since the last time I worked on it by adding and moving objects in level one to make it look and play better. I attempted to add scripted behavior to some entities, but they don't all work completely. In level two I multiplied the main room to create a dungeon like experience for players.
