'CONQUEROR' is a type of tire that is used for all four seasons
Smart tires are optimized for winter, transformed into winter spikes when roads freeze due to low temperatures.

‘캉커러(CONQUEROR)’는 평상시 사계절용 타이어에서 폭설 또는 저 기온으로 인해
도로가 얼어붙을 시, 윈터 스파이크 타이어로 트랜스폼 되는 겨울에 최적화된 스마트 타이어입니다.

Background

The environment is deteriorating with rapid urbanization, global climate change, and more frequent and extreme weather events.

There are also various variables on the road, and according to the analysis of traffic accidents between 2015 and 2019,

the total number of black ice traffic accidents was 5,200, 1.8 times that of snow traffic accidents (2884).

During this period, the number of deaths from black ice traffic accidents was 170,

3.7 times higher than the number of deaths from snow traffic accidents (46).

급격한 도시화와 지구 기후변화, 그리고 더 빈번하고 극단적인 기상 현상이 맞물려 환경이 악화되고 있습니다.
도로위 또한 다양한 변수가 존재하게 되는데 한국교통연구원의 2015년~2019년 교통사고를 분석한 결과에

따르면 블랙 아이스 교통사고 발생건수는 총 5200건으로, 눈길 교통사고(2884건)의 1.8배 수준입니다.

이 기간 블랙 아이스 교통사고 사망자는 170명으로, 눈길 교통사고 사망자(46명)보다 3.7배 많았습니다.

Project Goal

Black ice is often formed in shaded and low surface temperatures, such as curved lengths and bridges.

Unlike snow roads that can be easily identified even with the naked eye, it is difficult to distinguish them with the naked eye,

so it is easy to lead to a big accident when a car that was running at high speed suddenly slides.

Even if the user does not know the condition of the road surface, it proposes a winter smart tire that operates a spike

when a smart sensor mounted on the side wall detects a slippery road surface while driving.

블랙 아이스는 주로 커브 길이나 교량 등 그늘지고 표면 온도가 낮은 곳에 자주 형성됩니다.
맨눈으로도 쉽게 식별이 가능한 눈길 도로와 달리 육안으로는 구별하기 어려워 빠른 속도로 달리던
자동차가 갑자기 미끄러지면서 큰 사고로 이어지기 쉽습니다.

우리는 사용자가 노면의 상태를 인지하지 못하더라도, 사이드월에 탑재된 스마트 센서가 주행 중
미끄러운 노면을 감지하게 되면 스파이크가 작동되는 윈터 스마트 타이어를 제안합니다.

Sketch

We studied the stability of rubber treads and the weight that can support mobility,

and designed to provide solutions for black ice and icy roads.

It is designed in consideration of the natural movement and motif of the product when it becomes a transform.

고무 트레드의 안정성과 모빌리티를 지탱해줄 수 있는 무게에 대해 연구했으며, 블랙아이스와 빙판길에 대한 솔루션을
제시하도록 고안하였습니다. 트렌스폼 시, 자연스러운 제품의 모션과 모티브가 부각되도록 고려해 설계됐습니다.

Motive

A small piece of snow crystal has made the wheel's image three-dimensional with

the motive of a geometric fractal structure similar to the whole and an irregular pattern of icebergs.

With the motive of snow crystals, we built an image of tires specialized in winter.

눈결정의 작은 조각이 전체와 비슷한 기하학적 프랙탈구조와

빙산의 불규칙적인 패턴을 모티브로 휠의 이미지를 입체화 시켰습니다.

눈 결정체를 모티브로 겨울에 특화된 타이어의 이미지를 구축했습니다.

Conqueror is the best transform tire for winter, designed with the motive of snowflake crystals.

캉커러는 눈꽃 결정체를 모티브로 디자인된 겨울 최적의 트랜스폼 타이어 입니다.

Transform Cylinder

The conqueror maintains the movement of the vehicle with a number of deformation cylinders rather than the air-injection method of the normal tire. The 'shock absorber' is located at the bottom of the cylinder to absorb the impact of the road surface.

The upper part is an area of spikes and rubber tread, with a spike control built into the casing to provide

external protection and a secure and instantaneous transform.

캉커러는 일반 타이어의 공기 주입식 방식이 아닌, 다량의 트랜스폼 실린더의 탑재로 자동차의 운동을 유지합니다.

노면으로부터의 충격흡수를 위한 ‘shock absorber’ 이 실린더 하부에 위치해 있는 것이 특징입니다.

상부엔 스파이크와 고무 트레드의 영역으로 스파이크 컨트롤 장치가 케이스에 내장되어 있어

외부으로부터의 보호가 되며 안전하고 즉각적인 트랜스 폼이 될 수 있도록 설계가 되었습니다.
