Progression - Transformation Leaders
“Making just one small, meaningful change can have a positive effect throughout the entire organisation. At Progression, we don’t only understand how to transform organisations, we do it too.”

Progression was founded on the values of social entrepreneurship and the desire to influence transformation and effect positive and meaningful change in South African society. Since 2002, the company has been passionately working to promote economic and social equality for the most marginalised and vulnerable in society, through our innovative and inclusive solutions.
Breakdown:
In 2020 I joined the Progression team in the Design & Marketing department. Working with a team of 3 students, the main task I identified was to reform the branding of the organisation. A competitor analysis was conducted and I found that the previous branding that the company was using at that time was not competing at the same level with the other organisations. A change was needed.

Below is an example of the previous branding, prior to my contributions:
Proposition & Application:
The Progression brand was introduced as a solution to address the growing challenges faced by unemployed youth in South Africa, specifically people with disabilities. 20 years later, our programmes have benefited many individuals and families, a testament to the fact that Progression exists to create solutions which facilitate real transformation in people’s lives.

In the 20 years of Progression’s journey, the company has experienced many shifts and changes, all while maintaining the focus on our “WHY”. Progression continues to serve individuals and companies with the original offerings we began with 20 years ago, however with a number of powerful new additions. We have been re-engineering our methodologies and streamlining our services to meet the needs of our clients as well as the ever-changing environment we find ourselves in.
Italtile Testimonial - Skills Development:
Unlike many employers who opt for the ‘short cut’ of handing over their skills development budget and having their learners hosted externally, Italtile went with the hands-on approach of integrating the learners into their business by placing them at various stores across Gauteng. This allowed the managers, mentors and staff at these branches to gain exposure and fully participate in the process, facilitating greater awareness and a deeper understanding of disability throughout the organisation.
