Becoming Self-Aware

   

An interactive audiovisual experience invites the audience to reflect on the boundaries and interceptions of collective and individual identity. Without any explicit instructions, the participants can wander and explore how their movements, or lack thereof, can trigger audiovisual effects — a sense of self as its own virtual existence, free from the constraints of stereotypes and dogma, creating a new persona unaware of its precedence.

The computer acts as a medium, translating physical action into audiovisual results, generating algorithmic abstractions that aim to interpret both collective and individual agency. Finally, the automated computer process becomes a third independent entity seeking to bring humans together and create an entirely disparate layer of existence.
