I tend to work in black and white and greys to begin with. Sometimes I enjoy it so much that the final will end up like this. I thought the piece could use some colour in the end. This may be a variant version down the road.
Was thinking of going through with the most emotionally gripping scene where Artax drowns in the Bog of Sadness but thought it was far too heavy for what I wanted to go for.
My original idea was to do something that wasn't referenced apart from the scene itself. I would have had fun creating my own version of the Gmork, but in the end I went with another layout and feel.
This would have been a very cartoon version and could have been fun to play with, but I decided to go a different route.
The rough I based the final layout on. Sorry for the crudeness of the drawing. Most of the time, I'm the only one that can see what's going on.
