Pictograms
Nature Felt derived from the concept of sensory stations in museums. These allow visually impaired people to experience the same object that sighted people do. These pictograms are made with distinctive features of the flower that it is representing. In this example, the echinacea has a prominent center and therefore the model is raised and textured.
Remix
Something that stands out about Prague is the outdated store fronts. This one in particular does not communicate what the store is about, which is a second hand charity clothing shop. The redesign is lighter and more inviting. It defines the store’s mission and vision as well as quickly explains what the store is. A sign was added to the top to gain the attention of a passerby.
Stencil Font
Typically stencil fonts are letters with lines that connect the counters to the outside so that when they are cut out, they stay in place. My font does the opposite in that the letter stays while the rest is cut out and therefore doesn’t need to have lines to connect anything. Apart, the letters are obscure, but when used in a sentence the boxes complete what is missing and become more legible.
