Wind, come softly. There, look what you did. You brought the rain again !

Cultural values of Dhamakhali match those of typically Sunderban villages where people are rich in customs and follow diverse local traditions. They have goddesses of weather and crops that they believe provide them sustenance. The festivals are rich in vibrancy and are a sight to behold. Amongst livestock, caws, buffaloes and goats are common preferences.
The people of Dhamakhali have agriculture as their primary occupation and fishing is the other important source that sustains them. Honey collection and labor is also common.
The aim of the project was to create a solution for the local people and sustain them both in life and economy. A homestead has been designed that assures them safety from disasters. A resilient housing and concept that  dwells in harmony with the land that sustains them with agriculture. The design in sustainable with regards to construction as well as ecosystem adaptation. Sustainable materials and techniques make this possible. The concept is innovative and yet affordable to be brought out in practice. The implementable and practical approach makes this project quite unique.
