Information design: Rolling with Riley
Brief
This assignment required us to create and visualise a unique character and the world they live in. This character should have a physical or emotional flaw. An engaging vertical narrative should be created that includes the character, poses and expressions, their world and their story.
Rationale
My character is a young girl with the name Riley. She lives in Los Angelas and loves rollerskating. Every day she rollerskates all around the city with her dog Rex. Her dream is to one day become an Olympic rollerskater, but there is just one problem...Riley has vertigo. To start creating my character I did the "blob test" (on Miro) and created a few faces from different shapes. I then selected one of these faces and experimented with different hair and facial features. Once I was happy with the face I started compiling a mood board for the colour scheme, body type, world and outfit. For colours, I used complementary teal and pink, and purple and blue as secondary colours.
