One Million Stars to End Violence is an art project which came about after the 2012 rape and murder of Melbourne woman, Jill Meagher.
It was an event that shook the local community and this response and call for compassion and an end to violence has made this particular initiative something which I think a lot of people have taken very personally.
Local artist Maryann Talia Pau teamed up with a very enthusiastic tribe of artists and volunteers to create a tens of thousands of folded stars, which were then hung on display in an installation at Melbourne's "Big Design Market" (December 2013)
This was the end result.

I would really encourage individuals, families, corporations and communities to vocally and practically support this kind of compassionate artistic work and to find ways to connect and care for others.
The One Million Stars project is still running and planning new installations for this work so if you feel like getting involved look up their website.
