Function Flow
The Process of Valmeekee began with a concept document which was revised many times before a final decision was taken on the direction & vision for the startup and ways in which it will manifest into any actual product.
The next step was to create Function Flows for different sections of Valmeekee, primarily the Dashboards for Parent, Teacher, Child and Admin. This made understanding the future steps of creating this product much more clear.

The Information Architecture of Valmeekee was broken down into three sprints: Dashboard & Library, Store and Admin Roles.
Off course each sprint went through multiple iterations before and agreement was made on the wireframes.

Visual Design

Typography
The typography for Valmeekee was set to two fonts in particular: Lobster & Cabin.
While Lobster was used for all 'Non actionable' text-info like section headings, brand names etc, Cabin was used for the actionable as well as critical/essential information.
Although i personally find Lobster to be a very attractive font, i learned that it is not a completely legible font due its cursive nature. Thereby as a precaution i used it only for information that is more 'attractive' then 'essential'.
The combination of Lobster and Cabin was an easy decision as its pretty known that they are a good pair to use.

The Dashboard
a single page for everything!

Dashboard Behaviours

Child's Dash

The Child's Dashboard was designed with same design language as the main parent's dashboard, but a bit more fun.

Badges
You earned it!
Badges were designed with a different approach. Rather than badges being given specific titles or being attached to specific points, they were treated more like a collection of interesting visual objects to acquire. Titles for each badge was to be decided by the assigner of the badge. Off course there will be a default title given in case the assigner runs out of creativity.

Dashboard & Functions.

Filters
a new way to browse
Browsing content on Valmeekee Store and Library is based on discovery and surprise rather than boring classifications. Filters made it possible to get to content that are more relevant based on individual preferences of subject, age, skill etc.
These filters were designed to be more fun when used on an ipad or touch enabled device.
