This series of digital paintings were inspired by my previous set of realistic angels. Dante’s Inferno, the book and the game, also inspired my desire to create my own seen deadly sins. I created the digital paintings with Procreate on an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. The animation and the speed painting clips, in the short film, are all processed through Procreate as well. I imported these clips and files to a MacBook Pro and finished the short film in Adobe Premier Pro. I chose this idea of light vs dark, as a running theme in the past 2 projects, because as simple as it is, there are so many ways to interpret it. With my interpretation I decided to depict the sins as almost godlike. I chose this because sins are usually thought of as temptations and the beauty of gods is usually looked on as beautiful and intriguing, unattainable. I enjoy the idea of blurring the line of good vs evil, in this way, because life is made of balance. In the end no one is perfect.
