(Began as a project for Graphic Design IV)
2021 is Missouri's 200th Birthday! To celebrate my Graphic Design IV class developed branding for the Bicentennial.
My idea for the logo centered around a punny slogan, "MO to come," a play on the state abbreviation for Missouri.
After finalizing the main logo we were challenged with designing 4 more logos for cities that would be hosting special
Statehood Day events over the summer. I wrote MO puns and created icons for each city based on iconic imagery
of the location to create a cohesive look between all of the logos.

From there I made banners to advertise the event that feature very colorful, bright gradients because it is a birthday party
after all and I continued to explore how the logos and gradients could be applied to different mediums to advertise, celebrate,
or commemorate the bicentennial.

After I thought I was done with this project, I was contacted by the State Historical Society of Missouri, who wanted to
use my designs to actually promote the bicentennial. We worked together to make some changes to the logos and I was
able to freelance design some more collateral for them as well.

The State Historical Society of Missouri wanted a couple changes on the city logos. The biggest changes can be seen on the Jefferson City logo, to commemorate the bicentennial Jefferson City is building a bicentennial bridge, so the committee wanted the logo to include both the bridge and the river. Also now all the logos advertise the name of the statehood day event that they will be hosting and are being used on the website to promote the events.
