When Honda Federal Credit Union asked us how they could encourage current members to not only open a savings account for their teens, but get them to actually save money, we knew we had to have a big idea. If teens learn by example, than let's introduce them to someone who's made some money mistakes, and learned it's never to late to get back on track.
Meet Jeff, our newly-enlightened, money-wisdom dispenser. Having made some poor financial decisions of his own, Jeff can be found living in his parents' basement, slowly working his way towards financial success. Here Jeff lends an ear to teens' random questions, and gives some candid advice. How do I save for a car? Should I get a credit card? What's your favorite song? With keyword-assisted suggestions populating the question form, we guide teens to important questions, and of course leave room for a few fun ones.
Along with our video component, we included a free $50 incentive when you open your new savings account. This along with emails to current members with in-family teens, and display ads throughout the HondaFCU website, we created an exciting campaign to promote new savings accounts for HondaFCUs younger members.
