For this project, we used 6 different typefaces and manipulated them within a template. The goal was to highlight aspects of the form that are not usually showcased and to identify the different features and connotation of each typeface.
Garamond is an old-style serif typeface that is used for printing text in books. It's a classical and elegant humanist typeface. Vintage, with an elegant ebb of thin to thick strokes and a bit of flair on the serif.
Bodoni is a formal typeface with a bit of playfulness, stylized with thick lines contrasting with thin strokes. Bodoni is reliable and fashionable.
Rockwell is a versatile slab serif typeface that combines well with sans serif typefaces and other serif designs. It's strong strokes are frequently used in logos. HEAVY, collegiate, a confident and linear typeface.
Futura is a geometric sans-serif typeface that was originally developed in the 1920's and was inspired by both the Bauhaus and classical Roman capitals. It's been used in advertising, media and by NASA. Futura is heavily influenced by geometric shapes. Bold, ambitious, angular and modern.
Helvetica is a Grotesque sans serif typeface that was developed in the 1950's. It is the most popular typeface and seen all around the world on things like subway signs, advertisements, and storefronts. It is an efficient and easy to read typeface. Functional and a bit utilitarian
Platelet is called the "license plate font" because it was inspired by the California license plate. Platelet has a geometric design that uses curves instead of angles. The unique form of letters such as the "B" was created to make the monospace typeface more legible. Eccentric, unconventional, and relaxed vibe
