In the old days in Yakutia, individual tribal structures had their own totem - a bird or an animal, which in a certain way characterized the representatives of the family, clan, ulus, transmitted habits in people's behavior. For example, the Raven is the personification of wisdom and secret knowledge. He is one of celestials in Sakha(Yakutia) mythology.
Until the 30s of the 20th century, the rose gull was considered mythicalbird that does not exist in reality. Only at the beginning of the 20th century her nesting site was found. Listed in the "Red Book". She never leaves the northern lands, spend winters in the non-freezing polynyas of the Arctic basin. The Yukaghirs(ethnic group living in Yakutia) tell the legend about a beautiful young girl. An evil shaman fell in love with her,pursued her everywhere. The girl was hiding, leaving for the seas, risinginto heaven, descending underground. The shaman found her everywhere. Then she turned togods, they heard the girl's prayers and turned her into a beautiful bird and hidden from human eyes.

An ermine is a beast that feels great strength in itself. He does not sit still for an hour, always in motion. The ermine spirit was often a guide to the Lower World.
