|Outlander- An Experience|
Above there a link to Outlander guest speakers. I myself, aren't one for period dramas but these talks were quite interesting. Especially learning about the different branches you can go into for the production of Outlander. If you want to, you can head over to this link and watch(or rewatch) some speakers that came to college- well a Zoom meeting: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLenUSKWOq0ymbL8j_SrI6n9EWYO600hId
There is a good array of speakers there. Feel free to watch them!
I also found Lauren Lambie interesting. Quite informative to listen too. A lot of good questions were asked and her answers were quite good too. We learned about the rejections she got after going for many traineeships and after discovering outlander she was interviewed and got in! As well as a few requirements e.g. a drivers license. She highlights how it was kind of a discussion rather than a really formal interview. I like that a lot. Less stressful! She went for a production traineeship which sounds interesting. I enjoyed listening to her - nice shirt too!
Keith Pflug was interesting to listen too as he was an ex-camera trainee for outlander. He highlights how he did believe or was told he could do it. The light at the end of the tunnel was how he dipped his toes in to get a feel for it as well as how he fitted into the camera department! After looking at the facebook page, a link to the Outlander Trainee program. As well as his work experience with another show entitled 'The Crown'. I've seen an episode or 2 of The Crown and it's a very good cast and enjoyable. Anyway, I loved his passion for working with the camera and being on Outlander! Sara also mentions how he stood out with his passion and all the things he's done. She praises him on his work ethic. He seems like a cool person! I'm glad we spoke with him.
One of the quotes that Sara said at 13:53-13:54 was 'You want to be on set with people that are half full rather than half empty' I really like that quote. Makes sense since someone who moans and groans constantly can get annoying and negative. It's all about how they handle the long hours and situations.
