We have probably never encountered real silence. Our ears never rest and oftentimes we are not even aware of the noises our brain constantly absorbs.
Finding a place remaining sonically unmolested is nearly impossible in the modern world. Within the project Laboratory, I simulated an imaginary situation of a complete silence reminiscent of that of outer space, captured with the ultimately silent medium - photography.
