For this project, I began by placing two simple images. Then, I proceeded to use layer masks to cut out the desired shapes, and filled the background with black using the brush tool.
To make the planet look more realistic, I used the brush tool with 50% opacity to create a sense of depth and show shadows. Then, I adjusted the levels, saturation, and brightness of the planet to blend more cohesively with the paddle boarders.
I then switched the main image because I felt it blended with the planet better, and used another relay mask to cut out the horizon. Then, I adjusted the curves, brightness, and saturation of the water to fit the color scheme better.
I then used an outer space brush tool to create a "dusty" look and make the images blend more thoroughly.
For the final touches, I used an app called VSCO where I turned the brightness up, added grain, and turned the temperature down. Lastly, I used an app called Colourtone where I added a preset as well as added a dust effect.
