Classical Type
This assignment from fall semester 2020 was to create a typeface out of physical objects. I chose flowers because I love plants, and flowers have a classic and feminine aesthetic. I used my Cricut cutter machine to cut stencils of the Alegreya Bold font, and arranged a small bouquet to be flat. I then took pictures of each letter over the flowers, arranging the petals in a way that I found physically appealing. I used photoshop to isolate the letters, and upped the brightness and saturation to bring out the beautiful color of the flowers that my camera was unable to pick up.

Here is an example of my process. I used my Cricut cutter to cut out the individual letters of the alphabet, and placed them over a small bouquet of flowers before taking a photo. I then used photoshop to isolate the letters color correct.
