I illustrated a cover for Delhi Poetry Slam. The book is “The Universe Is Explosive” by the poet Sanjana Saksena Chandra.

The Universe is Explosive is a book of poetry covering everything from keys and hangers to mountains and stones, the many little and big things the universe has to offer. The poems are a tribute to perception and once you have read them, you will begin to see meaning in the most mundane.

I wanted to combine some of the elements that appear in the book (apple, waves, clouds, lipstick…) so as to form a circular and very vibrant and colorful composition. I tried to give the illustration a lot of strength and energy.

I also made the graphic design of the cover, both the front and the back cover.

For the back cover of the book I adapted the main illustration, reducing considerably the number of elements, so the text would be easily read.
