Lillian Bassman was a photographer, most famous for her feminin photographs and her work for Harper's Bazaar. Just to give a short story about someone who I think should be considered a legend Bassman lived in New York for most of her life working as Art Director and layouter at Harpers bazaar during the 50's. However most of her fame comes from her work as a photographer. going into the 60's and 70's Bassman tired of her work as a photographer, she has been recorded saying that she simply felt that it wasn't about the art anymore. The new models gave her directions rather than wise versa and she could no longer gain that relationship with the models that had created that feeling of intimacy in the pictures. And so Bassman took her photograph and all the work that she had created and threw them away, thinking that no one would be interested in them as they were no longer fashion.

In the mid 90's and early two-thousand's however the few images that hadn't been discarded were dug out by an art historian visiting her home for an Interview. I wan't to note that there are some variations to whom was the person who found the photographs but that is besides the point. Bassman felt Inspired by these photographs and edited them using Photoshop developing them as she wanted, no longer restricted by magazine directors and clients.

This small magazine was part of an assignment to create a tribute to a famous designer in history, telling their story and reflecting the work they created in their time.
