Barbary fig or Prickly pear
Nopal can get enough amounts of water 💧 from the environment in a dry area 🏜, fortunately the area where I took the photos 📸 is close to a dam 💦.
It has spikes that are hard and pointy, on the other side the cactus 🌵 is delicious, my suggestion is to cook it as a salad 🥗 (Include tomato, onion, avocado, salt and a bit pepper).
Wait till the end of summer or begging autumn to see cactus flowers 🌺 bloom.
