My idea for this project is to demonstrate the purpose of protecting animals（pangolin） through the use of waste materials.

“In the EU alone, yearly 600 million pine trees are felled to keep up with the wood demand, which is more than is planted back.” Pine trees are the highest demand wood in the world, while people cutting down pine trees, pine cones and pine needles becomes waste materials, so I used them as my material for this project.

I planned to make a bracer by using pine needle and pine cone to protect the body. I get the idea from an article published by IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) that pangolin is the world’s most hunted animal, people hunted them for clothing, Medicinal herbs and even eating them. The skin of the pangolin is quite same with the texture of the pine cone, so I want to use pine cone to replace the using of pangolin’s skin.
