Three turkey vultures came to visit us yesterday, so I thought this was a great time to utilize the power of my Nikon D5500 and my two zoom lens. I have an old Nikon ED 70-300 mm lens and a new DX 18-140 mm VR. The 70-300 has to be manually focused and is best used on a tri-pod for optimal effects. The VR lens is wonderful, has sharp focus, and is handy to have as an all-purpose lens. Again, Lightroom did much of the heavy lifting here for clean-up, cropping and enhancement. I might add, these beasts look prehistoric, and are rather huge, with a wing span of up to 6 feet (see my example here)! Note: though it looks like only one bird, these are shots from 3 different birds, I just couldn't get them all together since I really wanted close-ups. True bird experts should be able to spot the different ones I suppose. Drop a comment below and let me know what you think. Higher resolution images can be found here on my Flicker stream
