In this World War II-set story, four women compete for a spot hosting a wartime cookery program called The Kitchen Front — based on the actual BBC program of the same name — as well as a chance to better their lives.
Below are the cover ideas I proposed.
While ideating, I researched a great many British propaganda posters produced at the time as part of government campaigns to encourage domestic food production. One of them (featured below) was the main inspiration source behind the idea the client picked.
The typefaces used were also meant to replicate the typography I encountered repeatedly while researching the posters.
