Piedelli was born from one of those bait videos about a platform where you can sell pics of your feet.
It's one of those – I'm not even sure who they're targeted to, I just know I get loads of these and sometimes it's fun, other is dire. The obsession we seem to have with making a lot of money with little to no effort it's telling of how we live, the precarious way we see money and access to life really. It's not even like we can't be arsed to work, we're just tired of hard work paying barely the bills. I think it's not an ideal rooted in greed, rather in dissatisfaction with the status quo.  And in a way with the disparity that social media is just feeling and constantly keeping in front of us like a weird form of torture.
Another angle we explored was the intersection between body, food and sex, as we cannot ignore how intertwined these are. In the whole process of this, we had the chance to talk with people about what draws them to feet and the most interesting reason is how public our bodies generally are, and how some parts end up being the last pure, private, untouched by surgeries and filters.
Which is something that transcends kink and digs in a softer need of being real, remaininbg human almost.

We approached it from a very curios and non-judgemental point of view, where we wanted to push ourselves to create something that is telling of our times, while still be true to who we are.

The project is a collaboration between London based Karolina Burlikowska (Photography), Fabrizio Ricotta (Food) and Giulia Boggio (Design). We pretty much approached this as an open conversation, while letting each of us be in charge of their "department" with not much intervention.
I think that's what made it a really great project to work on, as it's not always possible, as a creative, to be 100% YOU.

I think it's interesting also that we somehow moved away from the usual gonzo-style that you usually see when approaching these topics, and the results are a perfect mix of our aesthetic personalities.
Which I think it's what makes this project open to more people. It's not JUST a feet calendar, it's not JUST kinky, it's a bit of everything. The recipes are legit great seasonal stuff you can make, and it looks great on a wall.
