the Hidden treasures of bauhaus
Adobe Creative CLoud, Germany, 2018
Hidden Treasures of Creativity is an ongoing series about rediscovering, recreating, and preserving the forgotten tools of old masters, and placing those tools in the hands of a new generation of artists in the digital age. In collaboration with the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, Adobe set out to turn old font fragments and sketches recently rediscovered in the Bauhaus archives into complete font sets. Renowned type designer Erik Spiekermann, one of the world’s foremost authorities in the field, led an international team of young designers to complete and digitize five historic alphabets. And now, for the first time, these once forgotten treasures have been rediscovered and are being made available exclusively to the Creative Cloud community.
