Alvorada Bench

Product designed for the "3rd Design Award", promoted by Riva Industria Mobili SPA, Italy.

The Alvorada Bench honors the sinuous forms of Brasília, symbol of the modern experience in Brazil. Built on a cedarwood structure, crossed by rounded beans which relates to a certain modern zeitgeist, the bench offers three spacious seats formed by a leather fabric that lands on the structure, providing a slight curvature that fits the body, offering lightness and fluidity. The piece aimed the truth of materials, exploring its raw form and taking advantage of its natural characteristics such as strucutural strenght and comfort to the touch, balancing the rusticity offered with the elegance inspired in the architectural aesthetics of Oscar Niemeyer.
The piece was designed to serve their primary use, sit, but also to position itself as a piece of design that brings personality to the space and history in its shape.
